// FLOWERS COURT //
Flowers Court is a community established by the Belmont Housing Authority for those families with limited incomes. In 2010, Forest Pointe began a long term partnership with the community.
// ORNAMENTS OF HOPE //
Ornaments of Hope is how the people of Forest Pointe gave back to our community at Christmas. Many people have been affected by the economic crisis and we are respond in two ways:
We collected toys and clothes for 79 children in the Flowers Court community, a community established by the Belmont Housing Authority.
We delivered groceries for 120 families so they can have Christmas dinner, complete with turkeys, pies, dressing, and all the fixings!
// OTHER PARTNER ORGANIZATIONS //
// STOWE YMCA // www.gastonymca.org
Not only does Forest Pointe meet in the Stowe YMCA facilities, we partner with Stowe YMCA to build strong kids, strong families and strong communities. Forest Pointe contributes to the YMCA's scholarship program, helping children through:
-homework assistance and activities in the Afterschool care
-developing values and character through summer camps
// PROMISED LAND MINISTRIES //
Promised Land Ministries is in its 11th year of being "in the trenches" with those far from God in some way. It provides educational and support programs, such as job skills, reading and writing instruction, etc., to aid parishioners in securing and keeping a job. It also maintains a small house behind the church building where we prepare the meals on Sundays, and which we use as a "half-way house" where people just out of jail or seeking to separate from dangerous friends can stay for a small "rental" fee (just to make them find a job and invest in their own recovery).
// BELMONT COMMUNITY ORGANIZATION //
The BCO, established out of Christian love and concern, is a charitable, volunteer ministry dedicated to provide emergency aid for need families and individuals in the greater Belmont and New Hope areas. The BCO offers assistance with the basic necessities of life: food, clothing, shelter, household furnishings, medicines, fuel, and utilities.
